"Can Wisdom Be Taught?" with Min Jin Lee

 

This spring, the Richard Ellmann Lectures in Modern Literature will return March 1-3, 2026 with acclaimed novelist Min Jin Lee (Pachinko, Free Food for Millionaires) who will speak on the theme "Can Wisdom be Taught?" Across two original lectures and a conversation with acclaimed author and Fox Fellow Tayari Jones, Lee will explore whether wisdom— perhaps the highest value of an enlightened life— can be taught, and what role storytelling plays in cultivating knowledge, discernment, and judgment.
